The Social
Irish is a group of Boston area couples and
singles who meet, socialize and explore Irish culture
through outings of contemporary Irish cultural focus,
social interaction and laughter. Events activities
include classic and contemporary art and culture and
encourage
those who take an interest in socializing,
networking and the Irish cultural goals of Ireland
and Boston Irish.
Events
the Social Irish support include Irish and Celtic
music events, pub nights, theatre, lectures,
Irish and Celtic art exhibits and other Boston
area social events all hosted and organized by
our partner organizations all over the city of
Boston. |
The
Social Irish is a part of of the Eire Society
of Boston, Boston's
oldest Irish cultural institution. Serving as
the Eire Society's youth and social committee,
the Social
Irish is a distinct entity
that promotes contemporary events and programs
that serve our large audience
of
young
professional singles and couples. As our group
continues to grow, we continually welcome new
dynamic young professionals
(of Irish
heritage
or not)
who want
to explore
and
understand Irish culture through events in the
downtown Boston area.
The
Social Irish was appointed by the Eire Society President,
William H. Pear, on March
22, 2005 with overwhelming support from the entire
Board of Directors. This group of dynamic individuals
was formed to serve the Eire Society and the Irish
community and to uphold the rich traditions and the
legacy that the Eire Society has maintained for over
the last 70 years.
